Join to apply for the Social Worker Assistant 1 (NY HELPS), South Beach Psychiatric Center, P27164 role at New York State Office of Mental Health Duties Description South Beach Psychiatric Center is recruiting for Social Work Assistant 1 to provide case management and service coordination activities for individuals with mental illness. As a Social Work Assistant 1 at South Beach Psychiatric Center, you will work with an interdisciplinary team and duties will include: Interviewing individuals and their families to gather background information Preparing case histories and determining eligibility for services Advocating and assisting individuals in identifying and obtaining services Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a human service field and 1 year of social work experience (Master’s degree in social work can substitute for 1 year of specialized experience). Candidates from within State Service can be considered transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a state vehicle.
